What’s the difference between Immersive Sebastian and Dragonsfall Sebastian?
This question popped up on the socials, so here’s the details:
The two Sebastian mods are not compatible, I’ll add code keeping them from loading on the same save. Either mod will work with the main Dragonsfall mod, but only the Dragonsfall one is integrated into the main storyline.
Immersive Sebastian: Follows the normal vanilla character setup and plot, no changes to schedule or basic routine. This mod simply expands on the existing character. A lot.
Dragonsfall Sebastian: Major changes to the base character setup. When farmer meets Sebastian, he tells them he is on his way out of town for a job. He then disappears off the main world map and schedule, only returning for town festivals. He has special extended dialogue for each festival talking about what he’s been up to. After the Community Center is completed and several Dragonsfall characters unlocked, he returns to town and moves in to the Guild bunkhouse, continuing his new job as Adventurer Guild IT manager. At this point, he is back to being a regular character with an all-new schedule and story.
So why pick the Dragonsfall one if he’s out of town for the first year or so? Because he’s integrated into the overall Dragonsfall story, which is quite complex and creates a community around the Adventurer’s Guild and all the characters. He has a real, detailed job and a true impact on the story and the community in general. This Sebastian is slightly older (about 25-26 when farmer arrives, and depending on how long it takes to complete the CC, about 27 during the Dragonsfall arc) and learns a lot about life and what he wants in the world.
Who knew setting up a record-keeping network for a bunch of mages and adventurers would be so challenging…
Marlon: “Hello, I hope your day has been going smoothly. Our new computer system certainly is, I must say it is nice having a technology expert only a shout away. chuckles“
farmer: “… Only a shout… Sebastian must be back from his tour of the guild offices.”
Marlon: “Oh yes, Sebastian just returned last night and spent until the wee hours unpacking his room. He might be asleep, but I’ll let him know you asked after him. Speak of the devil, there’s our intrepid new recruit.”
farmer: “OH! Ummm hey… I do my best to suppress the ridiculous grin that threatons to plaster my face, the corner of my mouth twitching… to be honest, even I didn’t realize I had been looking forward to seeing him this much. He smiles slightly, sea-gray eyes softening as he runs fingers through long, black hair.”
Sebastian: “It’s… good to see you, Farmer. Really good. Um… I just got my office all set up and was about to grab something to eat… care to join me?”
farmer: “Yes! Uhh… yeah, that sounds good. I bite my lip and look away… maybe he didn’t notice that ridiculous outburst.”
Marlon: “Have fun, you two. I know Farmer has been looking forward to your return, Sebastian, you can never say no one notices you again, my boy. Haha!”
farmer: “Ohhhh Yoba… I can’t believe Marlon just said that… I mean, I can, but still. As if this couldn’t get any more awkward. I risk a glance at Sebastian, his eyes shining like sunlight reflecting off the ocean just as storm clouds fade away… He reaches for his hoodie ties, twirling them around his fingers.”
Sebastian: “I was uh… looking forward to seeing you too. Seriously. So it’s all good.”
farmer: “His low, velvet voice drifts to my ears and I feel the tension dissipate. There’s something about his voice… Sebastian releases his hoodie strings, shoving his hands in his jean pockets. My gaze travels back up to his face, and those incredible eyes framed by long, black lashes.”
Sebastian: “The saloon okay? Not like there’s a bunch of options… heh.”
