I’ve created a few different types of mods, including dialogue and event character expansions, user interface re-color, and some small sprite mods. Right now, I’m working on a moderate-sized expansion.
Character expansions
I’ve evolved the format of these over time, and have settled on a core mod and optional spicy expansion.
Style: character personalities are drawn from vanilla, I don’t change them to be noticeably different. No yandere, possessive, or deviant content here. I also keep their vanilla preferences and genders, including orientation (vanilla = generic). I don’t add content slanting characters to any specific orientation, including bi. They stay neutral. That said, I do have gender variant lines for farmer where appropriate, so if farmer is male, he won’t come off as female, and vice versa. These variants are minor and don’t change the story, they only feed my desire for customization.
Narration
Over time, I’ve added context to my events and some dialogue by adding farmer’s thoughts. This has configuration options, currently first person as if you’re reading farmers mind and narration (third person) that describes what happened as if you are watching it happen. I am now adding a third option for minimal narration that removes all non-dialogue lines other than those essential for scene setting, and these are formatted as neutral statements. This option reduces the length of events, but also removes the “visual novel” feeling of my events. The choice is yours!
Pronouns
By request from the very first version of my Sebastian mod, neutral pronouns for farmer is an option. If neutral is not chosen, the mod defaults to farmer’s gender from the creation screen. Selecting neutral does edit lines that refer to anything related to farmer’s gender and neutralizes them. This includes the spicy expansions. I will not be adding neutral pronouns for any other character or adding customizable gender/pronoun combinations for farmer. The amount of work is exponential, and I simply do not have time.
Romance
The core mods are safe for work, PG. The characters are adults, so there might be very mild swearing and rare humorous innuendo, but nothing to make anyone blush. Storylines do not include dark content. A good example of core vs spicy expansion variants is Sebastian’s event, Bones. See the script with notes on variants here.
The spicy expansions include two options, spicy and mature (extra spicy). The default is spicy, and expands on the core mod content with more in-depth dialogue and events that can touch on darker themes, especially for Sebastian since he struggles with depression and anxiety. There is more innuendo particularly while dating, and a recurring sleepover event. Some sexual content is included for a handful of events. This is kept fairly high level and brief, it adds to character development but is absolutely not necessary for the overall story.
Mature adds a variant to a few marriage dialogue lines and a very few events. It’s exclusively sexual content I felt needed its own toggle. None of this content has dark themes and is quite emotional.
Need a visual? How about this:
Core = angel food cake with strawberries and sweet drizzle
Spicy = red velvet cake with a pistachio layer and icing
Mature = pecan pie with a healthy dollop of whipped cream
Don’t look at me like that, get your mind out of the gutter. These are just desserts, your mileage may vary.
Unique to Sebastian’s romance mod
This mod is ridiculously huge and needs some tlc and a bit of consolidation. I’ll be updating it for the 1.7 Stardew Valley release.
Currently, it has three variants, slow burn, speed run, and lite (for lack of a better name). No other mod has this and none will. Mistakes were made and lessons learned. Every time I have to fix a bug or load a new version, I cry inside.
What’s the difference? Slow burn is the long form, requested and inspired by a friend who loves dragging romance out as long as possible. Speed run has most of the events, but is heart-based progression and can be completed much faster. Lite is speed run, but with the poly-incompatible content removed.
Why did this happen? Because players kept reporting bugs caused by polyamory mods and not reading the instructions. Please, for the love of Yoba, read the mod descriptions and instructions on Nexus! You can find more details on Sebastian’s character page.

Please use the Nexus posts for the mod in question for comments or issues with that mod. You can ask on social media, but it’s much easier to track issues at the source, Nexus.
Content feedback and questions
Submit asks and feedback on Tumblr, this is currently the only active social I have, I’m planning to use Bluesky more now that I have this site for links.
I have a Discord profile and am on the Stardew Valley and SVE servers. You can DM me there if you are on a common server, but do not send friend requests without asking first, I will ignore them. Do not interact with me on Discord if you are underage.
